Ht: 5-10 Pos: Guard Class: Senior
Q: What's the difference between being a four-year veteran on varsity versus when you first started as a freshman?
A: You're more like a leader now, because we have some young kids playing who just came up on varsity and we have to set the example for them.
Q: What was it like for you three years ago on varsity?
A: It was pretty good, though it was different because we had a different coach. It's still just basketball though.
Q: Were you nervous at all for your first varsity game?
A: It felt like a regular game. I was nervous for the first one, but after that, I wasn't. It was a long time ago.
Q: How was the offseason?
A: I played AAU basketball for the Copperas Cove Crusaders. We practiced every Tuesday and Thursday, and we usually had a tournament every other week. We played a lot.
We had a fall-league team, the school team, and this year we took our team to Frisco and had a tournament there. It was good because we got to see what we needed to work on and stuff. And some team-building.
Q: Who are some players you look up to and maybe pattern your game after?
A: Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. They know how to take over a game, basically, and they know how to create shots for themselves.
Q: Is that part of your game too – creating shots?
A: Yeah.
Q: How would you describe your game?
A: Basically I can play every position. I play really good defense, I can shoot, I can drive, I can dribble. I can do everything.
Q: So what's your favorite position on the floor?
A: The wing – shooting guard. It's easier for you to get the ball instead of having to dribble it the length of the court. I don't know; it's just easier.
